Hands down, Running is my least favorite. To me, it’s boring, slow, hot, hard, etc. I was never a runner before tri, and I would honestly still not call myself a runner today. It doesn’t come naturally to me and I don’t have some kind of talent or extraordinary skill. What got me from couch potato to marathoner was simply putting my shoes on and running. One day at a time, one mile at a time, I was able to build up from barely 1 mile in summer 2016 to my first marathon in December 2017. I used to LAUGH at the idea of running 26.2 miles. Like why would someone do that?? But YOU can push beyond your perceived limits if you show up everyday and work your hardest. There are tons of programs to help you get to your first race or even just start running “for fun.” Couch to 5K is a wonderful app and helps you stay on schedule to SAFELY build endurance and distance. Avoid increasing your distance more than 10% each week to keep your feet/joints/whatever nice and healthy. #timetotri #running #triweek #whyitri #triathlete #triathlon
